Remark:
Multi Voices One Heart (MVOH) mourns the sudden passing of our Advisor Mr. Fong Man Ching, a well-known composer of Cantonese opera songs in Hong Kong.
During his lifetime, Mr. Fong was a strong supporter of our efforts to promote the artistry and development of Cantonese opera. In addition to serving as an MVOH advisor, Mr Fong had also served as a judge for our Global Cantonese Opera Songwriting Contest ever since its inception, and generously shared his experience and insights with the contest participants. A veteran Cantonese opera songwriter himself, Mr Fong has left us many unforgettable songs which are well-received by both singers and audiences alike. His untimely passing is a significant loss to the opera community.
We wish Mr. Fong rest in peace, and hope that more Cantonese opera enthusiasts will uphold his grand aspirations by participating in the creation of more Cantonese opera songs to enrich and expand the repertoire of this Chinese artistic treasure!
Due to Mr. Fong’s passing, the revised list of judges for the 4th MVOH Global Cantonese Opera Songwriting Contest is as follows:
Mr. Ng Chin Fung, Mr. Sun Kim Long, Mr. Liu Kwok Sum, Ms. Yuen Mei, and Mr. Li Wai Kwok.
